Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education has been established by an Act 1882 of Govt. of India. It is a Minority Educational Institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of the Constitution of India.

Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education is an autonomous body that is established for the development of education under the guidelines of National Education Policy 1986 and Programme of Action 1992, Govt. of India. Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education is running 8th Standard, Secondary and Senior Secondary level courses in English and Hindi medium on the pattern of CBSE/NCERT for students of Minority Community with special emphasis on girls education, rural youth, working men and women, SC/ST, OBC and other disadvantaged persons who could not continue their formal education for some reasons. The Board is also running a Diploma in Nursery Teacher Training (N.T.T), Diploma in Yoga (D.I.Y), and Diploma in Naturopathy (D.I.N).Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education, Nagpur has been established to work as bridge between the Govt. and Rural/Backward Classes of India. as an Autonomous Body, for the Promulgation and dissemination of Education at State & National level. Since, our board is a minority institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of the Constitution of India and has adopted the syllabus of NCERT, New Delhi. In consideration of this many reputed institute/Universities/Board of India and aboard has given positive responses by allowing our students to take further admission in higher studies of their institutions by extending recognition of the courses of Secondary and Senior Secondary of Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education. Our board is committed to promote and popularize education under Open Schooling Education System also and envisaging a comprehensive Self Instructional Study Materials Delivery System that gives an opportunity to the students to get an education without attending daily classes & to provide a platform for job oriented Government recognized vocational, professional and technical courses and higher education to all irrespective of age/sex/caste/creed/religion or any sort of social, religious or economic discrimination. Vidarbha Board of Secondary Education is also making all efforts in modernizing Madarsa education by introducing subjects like English, Science, Maths, Computer, etc.
